    Default Yamaha vs Honda

Looking to re-power my 5m Quintrex with either a new Yamaha or Honda 60Hp 4-stroke. I have been doing some research but I was wondering if anyone here had some first hand experience with either motor. I know the Honda 60 is very new on the market but if anyone has heard any reports good or bad I would be most interested to hear about them.
I would also be really keen to know what you would choose if you had the choice between the two and why?

    Both great engines.
I have the Honda and love it (sorry 50hp though)

Don't know what the comparison is like but I know that the bigger ones the honda is a little bit quieter.
but you wont go wrong with either.

    Suzi's are good as well.

i have had a 60 honda tiller for a couple of months now on my 5 metre mako and i love it. can still have a normal conversation even when flat out and get to rotto, some trolling and some bottom bashing and back plus a trip on the river on one tank. have used my uncles boat which has a e-tec on it and it is a sweet motor too and even cheaper on fuel though a little noisier. he has had it back to the shop a few times with minor troubles but as i have not had mine long i can't comment on the honda's reliability.
someone told me the other day that there are more important thing's in life than fishing, to which i replied..... what?

robbo either is as good as the other,I've got a yama 80\5mtrCC and love it, before that I had a zuk 50 an a 465 tinnie.
any modern 4 strokes are great, have you looked at the new yamaha 70.lighter than either 60's and more power.

Another option. Great fuel economy/power figures. I think they are lighter too around that size. Call Mandurah Marine centre for a quote.
