Default Yeagarup Beach Salmon Fishing Report

I headed down to catch up with my mate Travis and his wife who live in Bridgetown for the long weekend. On Sunday morning we got up around 6 and headed to Yeagarup Beach for a quick salmon session. After tackling the dunes we arrived to a beach full of anglers at around 7:30. Between the two of us we caught and released around 30 fish before 11 on just about every lure in my tackle box. It was great fun casting the poppers out with the smaller outfit and watching the fish nail the lure.

Yep, not a bad way to spend a morning. The school would have been pretty big although you couldn't tell as there was no big black mass. You could see the fish crusing behind the waves.

You are not wrong about lots of 4WD. I was going to go down for just a look on Saturday afternoon. Cruised over Pemberton for lunch and then down to Yeagarup lake. Let the tyres down and headed to the dunes. There were over 25 vehicles waiting to climb the first dune. Two 4WD clubs had arrived together. It became obvious that it was going to take some time. Talking to the tail end charlie of one group he thought an hour or more as the track was pretty chewed up. Any way as I was only going down to show the wife the great scenery and test the new Prado, I turned around and went exploring else where. I will pencil it in for another time.

    Cheers
