Hi all looking at getting a beach setup for a mate.

Target, he will probly use for salmon, mullas and taylor

Budget 300

What i was looking at a 10foot Uglystick gold or a 10foot Crystal tip paired with a 4500 shimano baitrunner B.

I have and still own several baitrunners and find them fantastic, but i just wanted other peoples opinions on reels as i have not looked at much else in that price range (200$)

Any thoughts on that setup or other possibilities would be appreciated

Thanks Goodie

Gday all
Just chasing a bit of help on launching and retriving the tinny off the beach. I do a fair bit of my boat fishing by myself and the problem i have is what to do with the tinny while i'm driving the ute and trailer either up or down the beach.
This morning i ended up anchoring the tinny about 15m offshore and swam back to the ute when launching which worked okish. When retriving i tried to drive/pull the tinny up the beach before legging it to the ute, reversing down, hooking the winch to the tinny and dragging it right up the beach. This resulted in the tinny ending up half full of water from waves coming over the back while i was trying to get the ute.
What other options are there to get it in quicker and without a half tonne of water in the tinny?
Ive thought about maybe anchoring up offshore, swiming to the ute, reverse that down then using the winch plus a extra rope pull it straight up the beach. Thoughts?
Cheers for any help
