| New Byron Bay marine park declared |
NSW Fisheries Minister Eddie Obeid has declared the creation of the new Byron Bay Marine National Park.
It stretches from Brunswick Heads in the state's north to Lennox Head in the south, and extends three nautical miles out to sea.
Mr Obeid says it is a significant boost for tourism in the region, and he says commercial fishermen affected will be compensated.
